Petersburg cops seize drugs, weapons and cash in bust

    The Petersburg Police Department seized drugs, weapons and cash this week.

    Petersburg, Alaska (KINY) - The Petersburg Police Department with assistance from Juneau Police Department, Alaska State Troopers, FBI, United States Postal Inspectors, NOAA, and the Petersburg Harbor Department made a big drug bust in Petersburg.

    Upon execution of a search warrant of Carter Gueller’s house at 410 Mitkof Highway, the Petersburg Police Department found distribution quantities of approximately. 2.5 ounces of heroin, and approximately 3.32 ounces of methamphetamine.

    The street value of the combined drugs is approximately $61,670.

    The drugs were found inside a safe. A Glock 20 10mm was also found inside the safe. Gueller had $2,177 on his person and $5,080 (total cash $7,257) was found inside the house all in cash. A scale with what appeared to be heroin residue on it was found inside the safe. A handwritten ledger was found with people’s names with numbers.

    Police also seized firearms, ammunition, and accessories from the residence. The firearms seized were Glock 20 10mm, an AR-15 style rifle, a shotgun, and a single shot hunting rifle.

    Gueller was arrested and booked into the Petersburg Jail on charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree (Class A Felony), Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class B Felony) and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Second Degree (Class B Felony).

    Arraignment was scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Petersburg District Court.
