Police kill two bears

Sitka, Alaska (KINY) The bears broke into a shed to eat a deer a hunter had killed.

The Daily Sitka Sentinel reported the two brown bears entered the shed and then began to scratch on a home in a mobile home court.

The police tried to scare off the bears with non-lethal rounds and their patrol car's lights and sirens.

The officers were unsuccessful and then shot and killed the bears with a large caliber hunting rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun in an area away from homes.
