Report: Process underway to fill District 25 vacancy

    Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - The confirmation of now Sen. Josh Revak has brought with it a vacancy in House District 25.

    According to the Alaska Landmine news website, per state law, Gov. Mike Dunleavy has to appoint someone by Dec. 2 – 30 days since the vacancy occurred.

    The Alaska Republican Party will need to send three names to Dunleavy to choose from. The ARP recently announced that they will accept applications until Friday, Nov. 8, by 5 p.m. Then, District 25 Republicans will meet on Monday, Nov. 11 to interview the applicants and decide on the three names to send to Dunleavy.

    The meetings are not open to the public.
