Second arrest reported in heroin case

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - Freddie Seludo, 25, faces a felony charge for his alleged role in a heroin shipment.

    The Alaska State Troopers' Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit reported Seludo was involved in a US Postal Service parcel intercepted on August 3.  The package allegedly contained 31.9 gross grams of heroin.

    Troopers said Seludo faces a charge of conspiracy to commit misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree.

    Authorities arrested Christian Mathers, 21, on August 3 for charges of attempted misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree and violation of conditions of release for another pending felony charge.

    The investigation also included the Ketchikan Police Department and Alaska State Troopers Patrol in Ketchikan.

    Seludo was remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center without bail to await a court appearance.
