Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) Social media photos show people standing in the middle of a road mangled by the earthquake near Wasilla.
Alaska State Troopers said with sizable shockwaves still occurring people should stay away from these dangerous roads. Despite signs and barricades, people have walked down into the crater to take photos.
There have been over 2,100 aftershocks since the quake hit. A 4.6 temblor was felt in Anchorage Tuesday.
Schools will remain closed in Anchorage until December 10. School officials announced an elementary school in Eagle River will remain closed for the remainder of the year due to extensive damage.
The American Red Cross has provided 182 overnight stays at emergency shelters. One shelter remains open. They served 65 dinners Monday night. 44 people spent the night there Tuesday.
