Craig and Yakutat have new COVID cases

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The City of Craig confirmed one new case in the community and two others on Prince of Wales Island while the Yakutat officials reported three cases of COVID-19 this weekend.

    Craig now has five cases, two in April, two in June and one this week.  There is one active case in the community.

    Prince of Wales Island has had four other cases, two in June, and two in the last week.

    One of the new cases was confirmed in Hydaburg.

    Yakutat said three positive tests were done by Abbott Fast Tests.  Some 100 samples were taken at the local clinic, analyzed and the results are pending.

    Contact tracing investigations are underway in all of these communities with new cases.
