Ketchikan reports 1 new positive case of COVID-19 on Friday

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - There was one new positive case of COVID-19 reported in Ketchikan on Friday.

    This person is a Ketchikan resident who returned to Ketchikan on July 22 after traveling out of state, obtained testing at the airport testing site, where they were directed to quarantine until receiving results.

    This individual is currently asymptomatic, has been notified of the positive test result, has been directed to isolate, and is being monitored by healthcare providers.

    The cumulative COVID-19 case count for Ketchikan, including travelers, is 44.

    The number of positive cases of individuals residing or staying in Ketchikan is 40.

    Of the 40 cases, 10 are still active, and 30 have recovered.
