Ketchikan said airport traveler tests positive for COVID-19

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - The Ketchikan Emergency Operations Center reported a traveler tested positive at the Ketchikan airport testing site and was instructed to quarantine.

    The case brings Ketchikan's COVID-19 cumulative case count to 29, including travelers.

    The number of positive cases of individuals residing or staying in Ketchikan is 25.  Of these cases, six are considered active and 19 are listed as recovered.

    The new case is being monitored by healthcare providers.  The person is asymptomatic.

    A contact investigation is being conducted by the Department of Public Health.

    The EOC Drive-Up COVID-19 Testing Clinic will be open each Wednesday and Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm at Berth 3.
