Man sent to prison for inappropriate contact

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Bryan Becker, 30, was sentenced to five years in prison, two years suspended, and seven years probation for sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree.

Becker had been indicted last year on two felony charges related to inappropriate contact of children under 16.

The sentence calls for a sex offender evaluation.

The prosecution said the sentence was a negotiated deal with the defense.

The prosecution said rehabilitation would be a focus of the sentence.

Superior Court Judge Philip Pallenberg said the inappropriate touching should not be tolerated.  "Girls and boys should not grow up believing that its okay for someone to touch them in private spots when they don't want them to."
