Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A number of Alaska Senators have shifted their committee duties after a shakeup by the Senate Committee on Committees.
The Senate Finance Committee has been reduced from seven to five members, with Sens. Pete Micciche and Mike Shower losing their seats.
On the Community and Regional Affairs Committee, Sen. Mia Costello has been replaced with Sen. Shower. Sen. Shower has also been replaced by Sen. Josh Revak on the State Affairs Committee.
Sen. Shelley Hughes was also stripped of her seat on the Judiciary Committee. She will be replaced with Sen. John Coghill.
Sen. Lora Reinbold also lost her seat on State Affairs to Sen. Costello. Sen. Micciche will be replaced on State Affairs by Sen. David Wilson.
On the Transportation Committee, Sen. Shower will be replaced by Sen. Costello.
Sen. Shower will also be replaced on the Joint Armed Services Committee by Sen. Costello, who will become the chair.
On the Legislative Council, Sen. Costello will be replaced with Sen. Tom Begich.
The committees actions passed on a 13-7 vote.
