Siberian smoke makes its way to Alaska

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - If you woke up to hazy skies this morning blame it on Siberia.

The National Weather Service said the hazy look over the Alaska Panhandle is due to smoke from fires in Siberia.

The smoke continues to expand into southern regions.  Smoke can be carried over long distances in the upper levels of the atmosphere.

The best time to spot the haze is right after sunrise when the sun is at a low angle, officials said.

The haze can add to the beauty of sunrises and sunsets.
