Sitka requires masks in city-owned facilities if no social distancing

Sitka, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Sitka is requiring masks in certain instances in all city-owned buildings and facilities.

Due to the increase in COVID-19 case counts internationally and in Alaska, effective immediately, all employees, contractors, and visitors to City and Borough of Sitka facilities must wear a face mask or face covering if social distancing of at least six feet or more between individuals cannot be maintained.

This applies to entryways, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and personal offices where a six-foot distance cannot be exercised.

While city buildings are open, the CBS strongly encourages citizens to contact them by phone or email as they can provide most services remotely.
