Sitka resident cases increase to 12

    Sitka, Alaska (KINY) - Sitka Unified Command said another positive test for COVID-19 was returned on Tuesday.

    Sitka now has 12 resident cases and six nonresident cases.  One person has been hospitalized and 11 people have recovered from the virus since the pandemic began.

    The new case is female, non-resident, age 30 to 39.  She received a test at the airport on June 29 and has been in isolation.

    Authorities said she is asymptomatic.
