State reports 137 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The daily report from the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services showed 110 new resident cases, including six in Juneau, and 27 new non-resident cases, including three in Juneau.

    The state total case count is 2,729 residents and 621 nonresidents.

    The report showed 836 people have recovered, 1,871 active cases, 120 people hospitalized during the pandemic and 22 deaths.

    The report went on to show that the state has 647 inpatient hospital beds, 87 intensive care beds, and 28 ventilators available.

    36 people are currently in the hospital and have tested positive for COVID-19.

    Active cases one week ago stood at 1,220 cases.

    The new resident cases included 80 in Anchorage, six on the Kenai Peninsula, one in Cordova-Valdez, six in the Fairbanks Northstar Borough, five in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, six in Juneau, and one each in Yakutat, Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island.
