State reports 32 new cases of COVID-19

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The total of resident cases rose to 883 and the total of non-resident to 179 on Sunday, according to the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services.

    There were 29 new cases of Alaska residents, and three of non-residents, officials said.

    The daily report Sunday revealed 521 people have recovered with 348 active cases, 67 hospitalized during the pandemic, and 14 deaths.

    Friday, the state reported two Juneau residents had died in May from COVID-19 in long-term care facilities in New Jersey and Washington State.

    The Southeast region has had 67 people recover from the virus.  There are 18 active cases in the region.

    New resident cases were reported Sunday in Anchorage, 15, the Kenai Peninsula three, the Fairbanks Northstar Borough three, the Mat-Su Borough 4, and one in Haines.

    New non-resident cases were reported in Delta Junction and Dillingham.
