Washington Governor concerned about spike in COVID-19

    Washington Gov. Jay Inslee.

Olympia, Washington (ABC) - Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced new limits at restaurants and a mask mandate for certain public areas Thursday.

Restaurants must limit indoor service to members of the same household at the same table.

Masks will be required in common areas like elevators, university housing, and hotels across the state.

Inslee said the state would be in a position like Florida if they do not act, "The rate of transmission has been increasing around the state.  Our suppression of this virus is not at the level it needs to be to allow us to continue to allow more activity.

Inslee said young people make up 45 percent of Washington's COVID-19 cases.
