Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A joint meeting with the Juneau Airport Board of Directors highlights Monday evening's Assembly Committee of the Whole meeting.
City Manager Rorie Watt says the airport will give them an update on all kinds of things and likely the status of the terminal project and emergency and regular federal funding, and what their budget is looking like. In addition, the Assembly will want an update on how airport tenants are in view of the severe decline in aviation caused by the pandemic.
The panel will also take up solid waste issues. Watt says they've been getting complaints about odor from the landfill. He said it is an Assembly goal to work on solid waste issues.
Watt pointed out the city and borough does not own or regulate the landfill or the refuse company.
The Committee of Whole meeting is scheduled to convene at 6 p.m.
