Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Representative Andi Story says an important voice has been left out of the Governor's commission charged with looking at what to do about the Alaska Marine Highway.
She has received a letter from the Alaska Native Sisterhood and the Alaska Native Brotherhood complaining that there was a lack of representation from a lot of coastal communities. "This is their main highway, impacts their way of life and that perspective needs to be at the table."
Story said she and other lawmakers are writing to the Governor to ask that he accept this recommendation. She believes the Governor will be open to the idea and adds that the Governor has received the same letter.
