Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Transportation will continue to keep a close eye on the road due to the threat of avalanches.
DOT Spokesman Sam Dapcevich said the road was reopened at 7 am after an inspection by officials.
"Our early morning inspection revealed no new visible avalanche activity that reached the road. The likelihood of a natural avalanche has decreased slightly this morning. The avalanche hazard remains high and closure could happen with short notice if conditions worsen."
He urged motorists to not stop or park in the avalanche danger zone.
The road was closed for about 14 hours.
