Crimson Bears Sweep Viking Warriors

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé Crimson Bears hockey team completed a Treadwell Arena sweep of the Tri-Valley High School Viking Warriors, winning by the score of 8-0 on Wednesday.

      JDHS junior Anna Dale scored the first goal of the game with 6:08 left in the first period, assisted by sophomore Caden Johns and senior Dylan Murdoch.

      In the second period junior Karter Kohlhase scored at 9:00, assisted by Murdoch; Murdoch scored at 2:59, assisted by junior Brandon Campbell; and senior Fin Shibler scored at 1:13, assisted by senior Colton Johns.

      In the third period Dale put in her second goal of the game at 13:51, assisted by sophomore Harris Monsef; senior Joey Meier scored at 10:21, with Campbell getting his second assist; senior Cody Kesselring scored at 7:35, assisted by Meier and senior Kyla Bentz; and senior Cody Roomsburg scored at 3:27, assisted by senior Illya Wallace.

      Crimson Bears sophomore goalie Mason Sooter had seven saves on the night, Tri-Valley sophomore Wyatt Juszack was peppered with 47 shots and stopped 39.

      The JDHS varsity had also defeated Tri-Valley 6-2 on Tuesday and the JDHS JV won 3-1 Monday.

      Next up for the Crimson Bears are a pair of Railbelt Conference games against the Palmer Moose at Treadwell Arena on Monday at 8 p.m. and Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.
