GCLL Red Sox Top Orioles for Title

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Red Sox defeated the Orioles 11-4 for the Gastineau Channel Little League’s Major Division Championship on Saturday at Miller Field #1.

      Hunter Carte was the winning pitcher for the Red Sox with 10 strikeouts over four and one-third innings. Carte allowed three hits and four runs and walked four.

      Porter Goudie relieved for one and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit, while striking out two and walking two.

      Kamden Kissner walked three times and scored three runs for the Red Sox.

      Carte, Micah Nelson, Jamie Randolph, Ivan Shockley and Ethan Ploof had one hit each. M. Nelson, H. Carte, Jamie Randolph, Shockley, Silas Keeler, Ploof and Carson Kautz also scored runs.

      The Red Sox roster includes coaches John Randolph, Nick Nelson, Jake Carte and Jamie Kissner and players H. Carte, Goudie, Ploof, K. Kissner, Shockley, M. Nelson, Keeler, Kautz, Jamie Randolph, Charlie Begenyi, Max Pillifant and Liam Kissling.

      The Orioles got one hit each from Parker Katasse, Crosby Landvick and Elliot Dolliff.

      Katasse, Landvick, Noah Lewis and Vinny Nizich scored the Orioles runs.

      Dolliff and Lewis were on the mound for the Orioles.

      The Gastineau Channel Little League will be hosting the Baseball Special Games 8-10 year olds District Championships July 14-20; the Major Baseball 10-12 year olds District Championships July 22-28; and the Major Softball 10-12 year olds District Championships July 11-12 and State Championships July 17-21.
